
Book Donation Guidelines
Purpose:
The Keene Valley Library appreciates the donation of books/media material. Donations of materials are reviewed using the following guidelines. The library reserves the right to dispose of any gifts that are given to the library. Material not added to the library collections may be used for sales or re-gifted to other organizations. Acceptance of materials is at the discretion of Library Director.

Quantity – unless the Library Director approves, we will only accept 2 bags or small boxes at a time.

Cassettes/VHS tapes

Medical, professional, science and technology material

Textbooks/study guides/workbooks

Readers Digest condensed books

Travel books over 3 years’ old

Condition
-
General rule: If you wouldn’t buy it or give to a friend, think twice about donating it. Condition matters – if your items have any of the following, they will not be accepted:

Moldy

Damaged

Smelly (wood smoke, cigarette smoke, perfume)

Water damaged
